MAUN

Soft Manipulation of Objects with Dexterous Sensors-Equipped Hand
#

MAUN is an international Research & Design project funded by the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme under the SPPW CALL 2024.

Project MAUN aims to create a fully functional robotic hand equipped with integrated sensors and to develop a dedicated software library for reliable object grasping and automated dataset collection. The project will also generate an open dataset documenting grasp interactions.

This work combines a polymer skin containing tactile, proximity, and temperature sensors with a robotic hand driven by series-elastic actuators in a one-to-one mapping. This design enables controlled grasp execution and real-time estimation of an object’s position inside the hand, establishing a concrete benchmark for dexterous manipulation tasks.

More information on the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme, including the Programme’s objectives, news and open calls, can be found on the Programme’s website.

The project is supported by the Swiss Contribution to reducing economic and social disparities in the EU.
