Meet the coordinator of the MAUN project:
Łukasiewicz Research Network - Industrial Research Institute for Automation & Measurements PIAP (Łukasiewicz - PIAP)
Łukasiewicz - PIAP is a research institute with strong commercial branch. It was established in Poland in 1965. Currently, it employs c.a. 250 people, out of which more than 2/3 are scientists and/or engineers. Main activity topics of the institute include: mobile autonomous systems, innovative human machine interfaces, manipulation and manipulator construction, cyber-physical systems, data fusion and image processing, industrial automation, measurement devices and rapid prototyping. Łukasiewicz - PIAP is the main Polish and one of the biggest European producers of IEDD/EOD/CBRN mobile robots and robotic accessories. For more than 25 years Łukasiewicz - PIAP has been active in research collaboration for the EC (3rd-7th Framework Programme, H2020, HE), EDA, ESA and NATO. Łukasiewicz - PIAP is a part of Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz – the 3rd biggest research network in Europe, with over 7000 employees in Poland.
In the MAUN project Łukasiewicz - PIAP acts as the Programme Component Operator (PCO), coordinating the consortium works, while its research team focuses on preparing a robotic system with perception and grasping modules, followed by integration, testing and data collection activities.
